Local Resources

Two things:
1. Here's some of the local music scene...venues, open mics and such.
2. While you're here at the studio, you'll probably need to eat, or need a new drum head or strings... So when you're here, look at this page and you'll have a list of options to pick from! :)


Local Venues and Open Mics
- Steel City - Has open mics every Thursday. Seriously good coffe shop and cafe, which is a seriously good venue.
- Hardbean Cafe Boyertown - Has open mics 2nd and 4th Thursdays.
- The Speckled Hen Open Mic - another great open mic in Reading, Pa
- Reverb - Great new concert venue with a lot of room! Their facebook page here!
- Chaplin's the Music Cafe - Has open mics.
- The Silo - Open mics on Thursdays.
- Canal Street Pub - Neat place.
- World Cafe Live - Has open mics and Philly Rising competition.
- Chameleon Club - Out in lancaster. Good place for loud shows.
- Crocodile Rock Cafe
- First Friday, Reading, PA - facebook page is sometimes more up-to-date.


Local Music Shops
- West Chester Music, West Chester, PA - These guys are primarily interested in selling quality amps, pedals, and guitars. Lots of good stuff, in particular you can get Orange amps, Mesa Boogies, Paul Reed Smith amps here and pedals from the likes of Z-Vex and Barber Electronics.
- Meadowood Music, Blandon, PA - They only deal with stringed instruments. If you are looking for G&L Guitars (Leo Fender's guitars...) or Reverend Guitars, this is your place. Guitar repair turn-around is pretty fast and resonably priced.
- Roxy Guitar, Philadelphia, PA - Huge selection of only quality and high-end amps and cabinets.
- George's Music, Spring City, PA - is within 15minutes from here.
- D-Town Guitars & Skateboards - Guitar and Skate Board shop. Great place to find cool used gear. Their facebook page constantly updates what new things their getting in the shop!


Food (within 5-10 minutes or less)

Local Parks & Trails - take a break and chill some place nice...
- Warwick County Park - Super trails, lots of open spaces for playing games, good running spot, creek for fishing, cool playgrounds. 5 mins from studio.
- French Creek State Park - Great long trails for hiking or biking, two lakes, a few park locations, super creek, boating, frisbee golf courses, swimming pool, lots of picnic spots. 15mins from studio.
- Monocacy Hill - Super trails and trees with labels. About 15 mins from studio.
- Towpath Park
- Schukyul River Trail / Thun Trail
